A gift that feels like them
Start with their favourite colours, then think about where the flowers will go.
A bright bouquet for the kitchen table, soft pink flowers for someone who loves pastels, or a textural arrangement for a friend drawn to natural shapes: birthday flowers feel more personal when the choice begins with the recipient.
We’re Vhouse Florist, a Sutherland Shire florist based inside Westfield Miranda. Here’s our guide to choosing the flowers, presentation and handover that fit their birthday.
Three starting points for birthday flowers
You don’t need to know flower names. Think about the colours they wear, the way they decorate their home or a bouquet they’ve admired before. These three Vhouse designs offer different directions.

Bright & cheerful
Lemon Drop
Yellow flowers with softer complementary tones. A starting point for someone who enjoys warm colour and a lively room.
Choose Lemon Drop
Soft & graceful
Sweetness
A hand-tied bouquet of seasonal light pink flowers. Choose this direction for someone who prefers a gentle palette.

Colour & texture
Wildflower
A bouquet with varied shapes, seasonal colour and a relaxed feel. Consider it for someone who enjoys natural textures.
Choose WildflowerShown: Lemon Drop in Grand, Sweetness in Classic and Wildflower in Classic. Images are examples; seasonal stems may change. Check the selected size, presentation and current price on the product page.
Not sure what they like?
Florist Choice lets our Miranda florists choose a seasonal combination. Tell us it’s for a birthday, along with any colour preferences. If a particular flower is essential, call before ordering to check availability.
Birthday flowers and gifts for him
For a partner, Dad, Grandad, brother or friend, start with what he enjoys: bright flowers, natural textures, something for his home or a hamper of treats. The same thoughtful gifts you might choose for Father’s Day can work beautifully for his birthday, with a message written just for him.
The Gentleman’s Hamper brings together seasonal floral styling, gourmet treats and men’s grooming and lifestyle products in a reusable dark brown wicker basket, with a greeting card. Choose the style around his taste.

Classic
Bright flowers, treats and men’s grooming gifts for someone who enjoys colour.

More ideas to match his interests
- For someone who loves colour: Sunflora sunflowers or the yellow-and-white Sunshine bouquet offer a bright birthday gesture. Wildflower, shown above, adds seasonal texture.
- For a softer palette: choose light blue and white with Blue Sky, or seasonal whites with Pearl Meadow.
- For someone who enjoys caring for plants: explore Orchid Garden, Deluxe Orchid Garden or a Peace Lily. Check the selected plant count, container and available space before choosing.
- For someone who would enjoy a food gift: the Fresh Fruit Basket is an alternative to flowers. Check the current seasonal selection when ordering.
There’s no need to limit his flowers to a particular colour. If he loves pink, choose pink; if he prefers a plant or a hamper, start there. For any food or grooming gift, check the contents against his preferences and dietary or product requirements.
Bouquet or vase: picture the moment they receive it
A wrapped bouquet
A bouquet suits a personal handover when the recipient can put it in water soon afterwards. If you’re taking it to lunch or a party, think about where it will sit during the celebration and how they’ll carry it home.
Flowers with a vase
A vase can be useful when they don’t have one ready, or when several people are sending gifts. It also adds weight and takes up space, so consider the desk, table and journey home.
Check the actual inclusion rather than assuming the vase in a photograph comes with every option. Sweetness, for example, is a bouquet with an optional glass-vase addition. You can also browse our flowers with vases and check each design’s details.
Choose the size around the space and your budget
A milestone birthday might call for a generous arrangement, but a smaller bouquet in their favourite colours can feel just as considered. Think about where it will be displayed before choosing the largest option.
- For a desk or small table: ask about the finished dimensions of the size you’re considering.
- For a party or shared gift: agree on the total budget first, including presentation, extras and delivery.
- For someone travelling home: consider how much they can comfortably carry alongside their other birthday gifts.
Size names describe options within a design. Compare the selected option and photograph carefully, and ask us if you want help judging the scale.
Home, workplace or birthday dinner?
Choose the address around their plans that day. A surprise is easier to enjoy when it arrives somewhere they can receive it.
- At home: check that someone will be there and include the unit number, intercom details and any useful access instructions.
- At work: confirm they’re working that day, add the business name and reception details, and check when they leave. Consider whether they would enjoy a public birthday surprise.
- At a restaurant or venue: ask the venue first. Confirm the booking name, receiving arrangements and who will take the flowers home. Speak with us before ordering if arrival before a particular time is essential.
If they’ll be out all day, arranging delivery to their home on a day you’ve agreed can be more practical than sending flowers between several birthday plans.

Write a card that sounds like you

Use these as starting points and add your own words. For a group gift, include everyone’s names so the recipient knows who to thank.
